Challenges therapy can help with

Who can Nondirective Play Therapy help?

Play therapy has been widely researched as an effective and developmentally appropriate method for working with children dealing with a wide range of concerns. Kerri has worked successfully with many children with challenges such as; fear and anxiety, grief and loss, depression, social adjustment problems, enuresis and encopresis problems, speech difficulties including selective mutism, trichotillomania, aggression and acting out behaviours, attachment difficulties, trauma including abuse & neglect, autism, chronic illness and or disability, and parental separation and divorce.

Positive outcomes have also followed from therapy for issues such as family adjustment (blended families, arrival of a new sibling, children in care, overseas adoption), school refusal, specific anxieties/unwanted behaviours, childhood anorexia, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), Fetal Alcohol Disorder Syndrome (FASD), and self-harming behaviours.

For some children it may be more appropriate to use some of the alternative modes of therapy, this will be discussed with you.

If you are not sure if this therapy is suitable for your child, or if it is an appropriate time to engage in therapy please feel free to contact Kerri at Kidz Time In, either by email kidztimein@bigpond.com or phone 07 5593 9973.
